Since 2014, The Bunker (formerly The Boulder Bunker) has been running a highly successful youth training programme in the Torbay area. Our success is measured not just in climbing achievements, but in the holistic development of our young participants:

Our Unique 8-Level Training System
We've developed a custom 8-level syllabus, each level named after famous mountain ranges, to provide a clear progression path for our young climbers:
- Rockies: Introduction to basic climbing movements and safety
- Alps: Developing fundamental techniques and body awareness
- Andes: Enhancing strength and problem-solving skills
- Urals: Focusing on endurance and route reading
- Sierra Nevada: Introducing advanced techniques and mental strategies
- Caucasus: Refining skills and tackling more challenging routes
- Himalayas - Base Camp: Mastery of complex routes and personal climbing style
- Himalayas: Peak performance and advanced competition skills
What We Teach
In a group setting, youth aged 6-18 are mentored in the following areas:
- Proper warm-up techniques and body mobilisation
- Fundamental movements using basic exercises
- Agility, speed, and coordination drills
- Safety procedures around equipment
- Teamwork and spotting techniques
